RPM jumps in steps, then jumps back and then climbs again at higher RPM setting. The pots check out fine on a DMM.

  • This turned out to be a firmware issue I think.

  • I have the WMS Wideband which logs RPM vs. AFR, that's not very powerful. With Megasquirt you can log absolutely everything for as long as you want, it's all stored to a log file on the laptop and there is a great program for viewing and analyzing log files and even making automatic changes to the tune.

  • Actually I've used the SDS, it's in my SVO which you can see in my other videos. It works fine but I would prefer to not use it in the future. SDS is also actually Simple Digital Systems. It has no logging capability and a very crude form of tuning. This RPM problem turns out to just be an issue with the RPM triggering method selected in software. The Ford TFI settings don't work properly with the Stim, it seems.
