I'm still trying to figure out why people hated this game so much. What more does a game need to make you people happy? The soundtrack is absolutely amazing, the story keeps you driving till the end, the boss battles are challenging and exciting at the same time.

What does it take to make you people happy?

I can actually understand the hate over FFX. Square pulled a fast one with this game and introudced a main character who we are not supposed to like right away, a dynamic character that becomes more and more heroic as the game progresses. Throughout the game we are shown Braska's pilgrimage which is much more tradtionally heroic and yet Yuna's pilgrimage, with all it's somewhat mismatched guardians, is the truly successful one.

It's a great piece of writing, but people want Cloud.

@dragonreview Nope. A good main character is Zidane from FFIX. And Cloud was cool in FFVII but Square-Enix have modfied him to the point not even his mother would recognize him.

Tidus is just a crybaby whose character development is a mere illusion. But FFX is a freaking awesome game

First Square threw him at you expecting you to give a crap about his daddy problems, which are nothing but a Oedipus Complex. At least they could've made Jecht a real asshole so you could connect with Tidus. But no, Jecht is a cool guy who loves his son like anything in the world and even though Tidus sees proof of it he still "hates him" because the guy is a whiny bitch.

@GoldMoleVideos this was an amazing game i agree...so i am gonna put it this way FFVII-FFX make a comparison...FFX is amazing but not as good as many Squaresoft fans expected...and the rest of FF after it are crap

@purplekid777 You're right. That bond was what made Cloud such a good character. But most people think that Cloud was the top of the line of the FF franchise, that there were no other important FF characters. I believe the peak was definitely VII, VIII and IX. And with the time that passed, I think FF X became a legend. It's been 10 years now, and I definitely believe that Tidus can be in the same league as Cloud now. Even though Cloud is more known and more of a legend.
