Raving Ants (Jet Force Gemini/Video Game Megamix)

Whew, well this was quite a project :-P I spent many weeks on this on and off until it was finally done. I felt I was long overdue for my next mash-up, so I wanted to upload one next before anything else.

When listening to "Big Bug Fun Club" from Jet Force Gemini one day, I realized that I could use it to create a unique mash-up. "Big Bug Fun Club" plays in the game as dance music inside the drone-exclusive club of the same name. It technically is 4 songs, as the player can go to the DJ and ask him to switch tracks. The official soundtrack of the game, however, compiles all 4 songs into one track. Thus, by mixing different songs to each section of "Big Bug Fun Club", I could create 4 mash-ups in one.

The 4 sections of "BBFC" are disco, fast techno, trance (is it really trance?), and slow dance, to give them really generalized names. I mixed the following songs with them:

Section 1: "Disco Train" from Donkey Kong Country 2 and "Kinetic Harvest" from Shatter
Section 2: "Like a Snake" (Port Town) from F-Zero GX and "Paper Engine" (Outer Space) from F-Zero GX
Section 3: "Red Carpet Extend-O-Matic" from World of Goo and "Green Grass Gradation" from Megaman ZX
Section 4: "Excess Express at Dusk" from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and "Stickerbrush Symphony" from Donkey Kong Country 2

"Paper Engine" occurs in the latter portion of section 2, just in case you can't find it :-P I was close to including "Sol Fever Disco" from Legend of Legaia in section 1 but eventually decided against it. I was also dying to include "Water Ruin" from Jet Force Gemini in section 4, but its various time signatures would have caused me much pain to edit.

Section 4 could have been edited such that the phrases of each song would match up in time, but I somehow liked how they ended up sounding, looping at different times like that. It all sounds like a strange but cool rondo :-D

(I discovered the disco-y "Funkyboard" from Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc only after I published the mash-up in Movie Maker :-/ Maybe I could mash that with something in the future? X-P )

In the end, I think this big mash-up came out quite nicely :-D I'm happy with the results, and I really like how each section has a distinct feel. I want to credit ChristeriousNinja for giving me great song ideas when I was trying to figure out this whole thing. His three initial suggestions for inclusion in the project, "Kinetic Harvest", "Red Carpet Extend-O-Matic", and "Green Grass Gradation", all made it in 8-P Thanks very much to him! :-DD Check out his awesome channel!!:

@ChristeriousNinja I agree. Section 4 was a bit clashing, but at least it reminded me of how much I liked DKC2 and Stickerbrush Symphony (and Bramble Blast). *goes to watch MPC's* ...*oo Rusty8984's stickerbrush defaultsoundfont is quite nice*

Lol anyway. I like that you put the effort into showing different game screenshots when the tune comes up.

Any holiday music project in the works? I was thinking of throwing together a christmas mpc medley myself.
