I am so glad that Carl's wreck did not end up like Russell Phillips' crash in the 1995 NASCAr Sportsman Series race at Charlotte. Same thing...he hit with the roof of the car against the fence except for Phillips, the fence acted like a cheese grater and in the process, decapitated him. I'm so glad for the safety we have in racing now.
