@ojideagu no way, psycho is the famous suspense film ever made in cinema history, the shower scene took 7 days to shoot and the music was superb. everything was great, the acting by norman bates, story and suspense.

@ALISONBABYism The new music in Jaws 2 is technically good, but nothing comes close to the main Jaws theme for terror. Jaws would be half as good without it.

@Gencturk92 You sound like a moron. Jaws is one of the most influential films in cinema history, along with the theme. Check the greatest films list. And hitchcock's The Birds looks terrible today, and has aged badly.

@Gencturk92 You are entitled to your own opinion, but the original Jaws captivated and spread fear among audiences and is hailed one of the greatest films of all time by the AFI. No other shark film can duplicate of the fear and thrills of Jaws. It's won three Academy Awards and most filmmakers site Jaws the reason why they are in the buisness, i.e. - Kevin Smith, Brian Singer, Eli Roth, etc. Yes, Hitchcock is a legend, but so is Speilberg. Just look at his resume.

Spielberg shouldent be a film director, alfred hitchcock's psycho beats any film. hitchcock is a cinema legend

@Gencturk92 He was working on Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. Plus, there really isn't a reason to make a sequel to a movie like Jaws. Speilberg thought he had made the definitive shark movie. Even Roy Scheider thought it was lame to make another. He only agreed cause he got paid a buttload of money (for that time). And Universal forced him to appear cause of his contract.

@Gencturk92 He had such a brutal time making Jaws 1 (and I mean BRUTAL). From things like the shark sinking into the water or from setting up a shot in the Orca just to have it ruined by another boat passing by. Or from having other malfunctions like the Orca sinking from an effect gone wrong . They were planning a 55 day shoot. It turned into a 156 days of shooting. (Sources Jaws 20th Anniversity documentary, IMDB, and en wikipedia). Spielberg thought his career ended because of this.
