@Imyourcounciousness Have you sat down and talked to him yet, or was his sanction settled through the courts? There is much research that supports restorative justice, and if you find your nearest restorative justice facility, they can probably see about setting up an appointment with you and the offender. Some could even set it up if the offender is in prison.
Please try to do this, life is far too short to be consumed by such toxic feelings.

When u tried explainin some things to 'normal' people how i feel about what they done to me, they, instead of listening accused me, and keep on repeatin their behavior...at least that brutal szhiso admitted his deed. So how the fuck can i move on&find peace??? Wish some1gave me advice :"""( my anger deprives me of livin life :(((((((((

Very powerful and no less provocative. I must say I look to your ability to forgive in amazement; not that I find it hard to believe or the wrong thing to do, but because of the emotional stakes involved in such a transformation. I find this video to be extremely interesting.

One more thing...
8:14 Sounds like is an excellent lesson for the media and their use of focal points in news coverage; they contribute tremendously (especially when the crime report first surfaces) to replace the idea of a person for that of the crime they commited.

Amazing woman, this Anne Marie.

Thanks. It has been such a relief not to relive the pain I also had carried so long. It's great to have a choice on how I am going to feel. I'm glad for the work people have done for me to live a healthier emotional-life.

(cont) When I was put together with him face to face and started to hear more about his life, he became a person. When we see somebody as a human being it's natural to want to move forward and to not persecute him."

( cont) "I think once people get talking face to face, for me what happened in that room, he became a person. Once that starts to happen, humanity, you come to recognise the other person as a human being. I think there's so much to be gained from it because what happens, what happened for me as a victim, is I just saw him as a an axe murderer. Nothing else was important. Don't tell me anything else about him. He murdered my father. (cont)

[7:37] "People might be scared of it but I think inside of all victims, and I don't mean to generalise, but there's a need to talk about how you feel and the court system, our legal system, don't [sic] give anyone that opportunity. (cont)
Restorative justice is without doubt one powerful tool.
too be part of the restorative process, too be able to feel/share/experience another human beings pain is heavy duty especially when it was me that was responsible for the harm and the pain.
Thank you for sharing this with me.
with peace and love
