The song is very popular to 90's Hip-Hop heads. In "Homecoming", Kanye uses a "girl" as a extended metaphor for Chicago. This shows the used of "girl" extended metaphor in Hip-Hop. So he may gotten the "girl extended metaphor" from one of these song.

My reasonable self-fallacious interpretation of the theme is that a "female" vessel is an extended metaphor for California. He talks about separating from California a lot in this song. Logo is a Georgia Native. He must have relatives who live in California that he visits a lot. At 2:17, he said "my uncle drove me to the airport". Therefore I suspected that he visits California. He also repeat about visiting California frequently. He must had an affection for California. He must had great joy.
