In this video Okie discusses in depth how to purify bulk water supplies for long term storage using Stock Chlorine. Okie will present the procedure for creating Stock Chlorine from Calcium Hypochlorite commonly known as "Pool Shock" Many people use bleach (Sodium HypoChlorite) to purify water for the short term, but bleach begins to degrade in 6 to 8 months making it a poor choice for long term water stores. This is a cheap and simple process that you will want to add to your preparedness skill-set.

The tank in this video was purchased from www.plastic-mart.com

  • THIS IS AN EXCELLENT VIDEO!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Not only will this save money on chlorine but it will save money on all those jugs I've had to throw away because of cracked plastic. It's also easy to carry if you need to bug out! Everyone needs to have this info..

Where did you get this info? I'm not doubting that you're correct but just for my own peace of mind, since I'm going to have my family ingest this I want to just double check.

    God bless! MK

  • @mkmason2002 Visit my channel and watch the entire series on water purification, then check "Pool Shock" the last video I posted and I think you'll have the answers to all your questions. Thanks for watchin'.

  • help !! I followed your tips, did just what you said to do and my water turned cloudy. when it did settle there was a ton of white stuff floating in it. is my water full of minerals or what? this is very weird, I had to special order the shock and now I can not use it?? whats up?

  • @hakunamakarla Don't freak out yet... first how many gallons of water are you treating and what type of container? Cloudy usually means you have a lot of calcium in your water, if you have an ice maker are your ice cubes clear or cloudy? What type or brand of shock are you using? Please send me complete details in a PM.

  • They say not to use this if it has algeacide in it!

  • @hakunamakarla That's good info to share. Thanks
