Well, this is cool... Mac channeling his inner Guy Mitchell, or perhaps his inner Tommy Steele (or maybe, even, his inner Eddie Cochran)... Linda's still alive, so this must go back aways... Hearing Mac do a tune that must have made him want to become a musician is a bit of a treat, wot?
i just looked up Melvin Endsley and I found out he was the writer and gave it to Robbins to record. I just like the original writers to get credit -- though the singers who made the songs popular should get credit too.
so who did write this song? I thought it was written by Marty Robbins. Guy Mitchel l did a famous cover. But who is this "Uncle Melvin" that someone mentions ?
I love this song . I heard it throughout my life. Is there anyway to get a listen to your uncles version? I've heard alot of his other tunes he is fantastic
It's just a fun old song, that's all. I remember I liked it as a kid in the '50's. At least it had a gentle beat to it; it sure beat Perry Como is how I felt!
