What is our cosmic story? In the last 100 years, science has provided more information on life than in all of recorded history. But what are we to do with that information? Cosmologist Brian Swimme explains why we need a new cosmic story that explains what we now know about the universe, and how that story can provide a pathway into the future of a vibrant life. I listened intently and only heard gibber jabber! There were no revelations, no information, only rhetoric. I am not impressed. Maybe if there was some sort of message rather than the rantings of someone who wished he had something great to say. He has all the supporting language for grand ideas, but none were present.
This is the first part of a 10-part series. Persevere and the message becomes much clearer an more profound. I was introduced to this with part 2 and carried on from there and i agree, this first part is incoherent and a poor introduction to one of the best docu's i've seen in ages.
Well dude, The system is truly a lie, money made the whole globe slaves, and we live in a lie , but God , well, it is a matter of how you see it, i see God as all the universew, everything, good and evil, right and wrong, He is the equilibrium of everything. You do not need myths to make your belief, you just have to look around, see the trees, the nature, breathe the air, and you will feel God. :) Peace out.
Err.. thats a great way to look at it... however you can drop the word "God" since you are saying it is just a conceptual idea that helps to envelop all that is rather than some mystical being. Also, I applaude that outlook. Its time for reality.
We live between the old industrial story and the new ecological story. Maybe human beings will evolve into cosmic/holistic beings. Perhaps Swimme has some thoughts on how this might happen.

He has written some interesting books and has done work with Thomas Berry and others that you may want to check out before you bash him. Peace :)
