  • @ClemsonConfederate He bitch slapped a Clemson player for talking trash on the OSU sideline. If that's the toughest Clemson has to offer, Woody would have been fine if the Clemson fans rushed the field.

  • Unlike Bobby Knight, Woody Hayes was an extremely kind, generous person off the football field. Bobby Knight has ZERO redeeming characteristics.

  • What's sad is that Bear Bryant who was a very shady person behind the scenes---borderline alcoholic, womanizer and many other sketchy things is revered as an icon, when Woody Hayes is vilified due to a stupid punch in anger. Woody Hayes was probably one of the greatest human beings youve ever seen off the football field. If you dont know this about Woody Hayes, I guarantee u you will change your mind about him once you watch videos of him off the field or his biography.

  • I met Ben Espy at a seminar a few months ago, and he told me the story how he got Woody's endorsement. Mr Espy has had an extraordinarily successful career: 8 years on city council, 8 years in the Ohio State senate, and he came close to winning a seat on the Ohio Supreme Court. Mr Espy has accomplished great things on his own, but credits Woody for getting his foot in the door.

  • I'm interested to learn that Clemson fans practice cannabalism.

  • Yes, Woody had his bad moments- often on National TV. I knew Woody, and admired him immensely. Ask any man who played for him. Few men have half as much charity as he did.

  • Woody Hayes putting "doing the right thing" before party labels. Good job.

  • Woody Hayes, lifelong Republican, always stood by his players. He crossed party lines to make this commercial, infuriating the local GOP. With Hayes' endorsement Espy won this election easily, starting a political career that took him to a distinguished career in the state Senate. He only left office in 2002 because of Ohio's foolish term-limits law.
