Dunte is a little town on Riga Bay, some 50 km northeast of the Latvian capital. As a child Baiba spent her summer here at her parents hiliday home, practising violin and going for long walks on the beach. Tourists come from abroad and across Latvia, following in the footsteps of German Baron Munchhausen, who lived here for 6 years (from 1744-1750) and apparently started his famous tall talk here. Baiba S. retraces the steps of her childhood, showing us around the little village, taking us to her former holiday home, which now has new owners. She meets her former neighbours, siblings Vita, Aina, Andris and Sekle. Vita and Andris work in the Munchhausen museum. At the end of the report, she takes us for a walk in the pristine nature here with tis dunes, fir woods and the wild beaches. Latvia is one of the most scarcely populated countries in Europe.
We love you Baiba! We hope you come to New Zealand again to play for us xxxxxxx
