I made my Rotorcraft Rating on Bell 47 it is a real great helicopter. Not so powerful but lot´s of fun ....

If you know where that is possible, let me know because I will be the first in line. I have never seen a flying model 47 for less than around $90K and even still that one needed some work. The Rotorway 162F Jet Exec is the only helicopter I have ever seen for around $50K and even most of those still needed to be finished building. and they will only fly two people. Some of the newer ones have a T62T-32 turbine engine in them which are the ones to buy but the run around $85K

lol no its not...i live about 5 miles away from there....that helicopter is a rental from that place

I've heard you can get a 47 for around 50K USD. It's the maintenance that kills you though, replacing the rotors and such.

In the mid 50s when I was a young pup of a boy my love affair with helicopters started when I watched a Army Bell 47 landing on the military recreation area/beach in Waianae Hawaii.......
