Trailer for the 1967 Amicus produced sci-fi film The Terrornauts. Directed by Montgomery Tully and starring: Simon Oates, Zena Marshall, Charles Hawtrey and Patricia Hayes. Based on the book The Wailing Asteroid by Murray Leinster .

I saw the last half of this movie on late-night TV when I was a boy, but I never knew its name. What a surprise to find it here!

One of my favorites. I have a VHS burned to DVD and still enjoy this movie.

What a pity it was that the director and producer of this film back in '67 made such a terrible job of translating Murray Leinster''s quirky but well written book into film. They left out a lot of the main character's childhood experiences that explained what happened later in the book. The Wailing Asteroid is good fun, an escapist novel, and well worth a read. These days, I think a decent director such as Lucas or Cameron could make an excellent movie with the SFX they have available now.
