First of all, I'm Canadian and that was the rudest thing I've ever heard anyone say about Canadians. "They don't have much passion or talent" oh wow. Secondly I've seen Liam Redhead perform Billy Elliot twice in New York and he was so much more "on" than he is in this video. I'd have to say whatever performance this came from he must have been having an unfortunately off day. He's a phenomenal kid, don't criticize from watching a YouTube clip.

@rlee1976 you have know idea how much pressure is on these boys to do this performance and trust me it is one of the hardest performances ever!!! i've done it!!! so get over the fact that he tripped!! everyone does. the good thing is that he didn't let that ruin his whole performance!!!! THAT is what shows he is a great performer!! and David A. had the best turns Kirill had the best form and Trent was the best tapper.

I live in North Bay, Ontario, where Liam grew up. I was always aware of him, but until watching this video had no idea that he had such a sum of incredible talent. A kid from a city with 50,000 people, and he makes it to fucking broadway? Pure talent.

@Andygarrett357 I saw Billy Elliot in Canada, and It was amazing. The Billy I had was Canadian, and he was just as good, if not better than kiril, Trent, and David.

@somegalfromcan Right. I just find it odd that Billy Elliot is really one of the only shows that would cast like this. It really takes me as an audience member out of the moment when you see something like this. For example I spoke to one of the Broadway Billy's, Jacob Clemente and he said that he was told that he was too white to play simba, that is the way the theatre world works. Either only cast white Billy's, which would be regionally accurate, or recast the entire family.
