House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said this week that thanks to the new health-care reform law, musicians and other creative types could quit their jobs and focus on developing their talents because taxpayers would fund their health care coverage.

I am a musician. I had struggled all my life to pay bills. I barely survived. Working bars, teaching, working at a church. I worked hard to make my way. I never ONCE asked my fellow Americans to pay not 1 cent to help me. I chose my career and I accepted my fate with humility. Now? I live in Nashville I still work just as hard but I make 6 figures +. What do I get for my hard work? Taxed to death! I pay (when the dust settles) 43% of my income in taxes. Why? Because I am self employed

America is about taking risks, if you don't take a risk, you don't get rich. Here's an idea, once someone makes it rich let's penalize them for taking those risks and make them pay for healthcare for those who didn't take the risks. You don't know anything about me. I'm a single homeowner in Nebraska, I work 50 hrs a week for human services. I volunteer in the community. I take care of my father and grandmother - AND I'm a musician. I am anything but a deadbeat.

The problem with idiots like you? You assume, wrongly, that when you see somebody speaking out about helping others, that everybody involved is a deadbeat. LIke you have a monopoly on hard work and American values. You couldn't be more wrong.
