@Mixedbreed3 I have the 2.5i CVT 2011 with 170HP and 170 lb/ft It does pretty well. It can haul a car load only thing is CVT hinders off-road, not the Boxer engine.
@Mullitman24 Although this is true, the 2.5 flat 4 struggles in some instances due to the Outback's power to weight ratio. A fully loaded Outback weighs approximately 3,650lbs which is substantial for most 4 cyllinder engines to muster effectively whether inline or flat. Although the 3.6 is slightly more thirsty and cost more, it does not weigh a whole lot more than the 2.5. The larger results to approximately 86 more hp and 78 more lbs ft. of torque which is more appropriate for its weight.
I personally see vehicles as I see people. It is not about what you look like on the outside. It is all about what you are offering from the inside. The Subaru as an automobile itself possess capabilities all in one package that no other automobile manufacture has matched to date. To me, Subaru stands for Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. This AWD technology is among the best in the world. This technology is what makes all Subarus very attractive to me. Their shells are just pluses to me.
I'm going to finally buy one after about a year of looking at cars...first order of business...do doughnuts on the beach while actually eating doughnuts...
Have you ever stopped to think that what's ugly to you may not be ugly to others? Personally, I preferred the "quirky" wagon design of previous outback models. The 2010 Outback is too refined, too SUV-like, and worst of all, too ordinary IMO. Subaru shouldn't be using the Outback to appeal to the yuppie crowd, and should go back to appealing to down to earth folks. Just my opinion, of course.
I guess we all have our opinions. I think it looks great - much better than the older ones. Unfortunately, when you develop a 'style' it will turn some people off. However, your comment is totally wrong. A fallen apart, rust bucket, 1989 Dodge Colt would look like a POS and the comment would be appropriate. In this case, it looks like a solid utility vehicle that was named Motor Trends SUV of the year for 2010. Some POS LMAO - save your comments for Chrysler
