My eyes tear up everytime i hear this version...... and i get goose bumps and chills run down my spine.... especially on a warm 4th of july night with a cool breeze the smell of fresh cut grass... BBQ going... light of sparklers... sitting in the cool grass watching the fire works.....

There's something poetic about a blind guy singing about how beautiful America is.

Well, . . . while Ray C's unique express does come across in cool, magnetic way--for many pieces--your: "greastest rendition ever", is more kind of just your opinion--isn't it? Still, I'm not saying you're all wrong, . . . but, . . . l would say, let's try to avoid pitting our favorites--there's a lot a beautiful singers, but yet, some, more, to each ear and heart, . . .

I think it is the anthem, I've heard it for years, we used to sing it in class, . . . you better check your sources, there, pal, . . . I think I'm gonna go with Ray C on this one, . . . "thank ya' Jesus", . . .

Lake Tahoe playes this song for the 4th of July and the Labor day fireworks every year, and there is never a dry eye in the place. Right after 9-11 Harrahs Lake Tahoe played this song every night for several months at the begaining of every show in the south shore room, and every night was the same, everyone stood, tears in their eyes, and paid their respect to the fallen of 9-11. this will always be a favorite of mine
