STUDENTS DISCOVER AMERICAN ROLE IN WEST-EAST GERMAN HISTORY AT POINT ALPHA: On November 9th, the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, Public Affairs Frankfurt arranged for a group of student journalists to participate in the annual "Student Project Day" at the former American observation point Alpha near Fulda, which is now a memorial site and learning center. The students interviewed historians, time witnesses (Zeitzeugen) from the former GDR, as well as representatives of the American military about their experiences during the time of the wall. Afterwards, they joined a tour of the memorial site and learned about the daily life of the American soldiers who observed their Russian counterparts from the camp
