Some company did a test and the "jack-rabbit starts" saved more gas than the slow acceleration did.

@NorkiddExo milage is not really dependent on the amount of cylinders it is more the capacity and efficiency. Specific power is the measure of the engines output to the amount of energy stored in the fuel..... but basically for example my 4lt 6cyl auto Ford gets about 100kms on 14lts of fuel and my 2lt 4cyl 5speed manual Hyundai gets 100kms/13lts..... pretty lame... but 4lt V8 could be a hell of alot more efficient.

Funny thing is people don't know how to drive. I've driven a stick-shift and automatic. I'm driving an automatic at the moment. I don't thrust the gas going down hills, or any of that mess. It's how you drive more efficiently vs gas mileage.

I drive a chevy Impala. It's average on gas mileage ( About 22 mpg, which isn't bad ). Plus, my job isn't very far and I don't do a lot of going around too. 10 bucks will do to a nice fill-up for a whole week sometimes if I'm lucky. :p

i get 24 mpgs with my mustang GT...people dont understand, that if you dont drive like a crazy woman, you get better gas milage.
