Vision of the Dark Tower is a dream within a dream. Based on the Dark Tower novels by Stephen King, this animated short describes the call of the Dark Tower to one of the main characters.

I made this animation to graduate as a Master of Arts & Technology.

  • what about jack andolini saying, "dad a chum dee da chee not to worry you've got the key"?

    other than that, its excellent

i am currently reading the wastelands, because im reading the dark tower series over again, and this is a very good representation of eddie's dream.

  • I liked it, but only one problem with it:

    WHY DIDN"T JACK HANDLINI SAY "DAD-A-CHUM DUD-A-CHEE!?"

  • I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.

    I aim with my eye.

I do not shoot with my hand; he who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.

    I shoot with my mind.

I do not kill with my gun; he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father.

    I kill with my heart.

  • I made sure to watch the video to the end in case it started again :p

  • I like how you paid close attention to the music...it can really make or break. Very Creative!

  • this was a great video but the only thing was that there was no rolling stones is the video. "I see a red door and i want it panted black no colors mater I want them to turn black"

  • KA is law

  • i'm sorry, it is, ill have to take back what I sais earlier.

I agree on the liberties part, because in movies hat come from books they're usually made to make the movie shorter and/or to make suitable to a broader audience (like the golden compass or the lightning thief).

I think this little clip is well made, nice style, but lacks creativity in the substance. although saying its just loos elements is not an argument anymore since it was actually in the book.

  • I just read this scene last night

  • actually this scene is in the series

  • @xPhalx Honestly, I don't think he'll ever be ready. Jake, the innocent of the bunch, always dies. I believe when Rolands innocence is kept alive, only then will he be able to see the final room.

  • Actually, I believe this scene *is* in one of the books. It's been a while since I've read through the entire series.

  • I think you missed my point. what this little clip is is also a liberty, Icant find this scene in the book can I? but what anoys me is that it is a creativityless mix of known elements, so why do you like this? its both a liberty- it didnt happen in the book- as well as something with little artistic value in my opinion

  • That's exactly the very thing I hate from directors that translate books into movies- Liberties. I always enjoy a translation to be as close as possible. Besides, this is nicely done. Good show.

  • i am creating the animated movie for the dark tower.

ive only read the wizard and the glass.

and used the audio books for the first to.

am currentlyworking on blaine the mono translap.

if u have any ideas u'dd like to share am all ears

  • *spoiler*

I believe the door he went through was the top, but roland wasn't able to enter into the room as he was not yet worthy, and thus had to retry (as he has several times). I'm not sure what what would make him worthy, but one thing he needed and didn't have was the Horn of Eld.

  • The Dark Tower always brings a sense of awe, even though I read all of the books I have wondered what is at the vary top of the dark tower? Roland found a door, is it some sort of symbolic universal doorway to whatever the person desires?
