Apparent design is everywhere, but does complexity necessarily require a designer?

  • Dear Richard,

Here is a question for you, and all other atheists. Do you love your family [I am sure you do]? How do you know you love them? You can't see that love, you can't hear or touch that love. So if there is no physical proof of love, then how do you know you love your family? But you believe that love is real, I'm sure. You have to have faith. Where is the proof that God doesn't exist? EVOLUTION IS A THEORY. A dumb one. God exists. Monkey-humans don't.

  • Complex things don't require a deity, why should they? Just because evolutionary biologists can't explain how the flagellar motor came into being yet, doesn't mean that god did it. It doesn't help the argument saying it, and we don't learn more about the universe at all. Evolution is more likely the mode in which life on earth came into being, than a guy snapping his fingers. Occam's razor deals with this. Imagine how complex a god would have to be in order to do all this. Was he created too ?

  • We had to watch this for AP Bio! I'm not sure why but it seems all the people who made it into AP Bio were surprised that people didn't accept evolution... Somehow those who reject evolution tended to have lower grades and couldn't make it into the class...

  • @dontlistentome07 And what does this have to do with anything? I'm assuming you are attempting to refer to "The Big Bang" as a means of argument. If you are, you suffer from what is called "ignorance." Watch a lecture from Lawrence Krauss to get a basic understanding of how our universe started. Something didn't come from "nothing" in the way that you're using the word.

  • @noddyguitar Well said

  • where in the natural world can we observe something coming from nothing?

  • Obviously they are different species of bacteria. How did an injecting type of bacteria make the jump to one that suddenly developed a tail and a rotary system etc?Certain bacteria stopped injecting and developed half a tail and it didnt move but somehow it was an advantage?then it started rotating and developed a stasis!Yeah right! of course both forms still exist but there are no bateria with half rotary sytems or half a tail etc.
