The 1A87 14.30 Paignton - London Paddington is booked via the Berks & Hants mainline, but on Saturday 12th June 2010, a kindly chap in Exeter Panel decided that it would be much nicer to send us to Bristol instead. Our driver didn't agree, so after passing the junction signal and taking the "left", we screeched to a halt on the single Up Bristol line, alongside the elevated Down. As the Class 150 on the Taunton - Cardiff service had followed us to the junction, after a quick change of ends, the driver took our HST back down the up line, past the flyover, over the crossover onto the Down Berks & Hants, and then, following a second change of ends, back over the same crossover, and towards the junction once again, this time with the points set for Castle Cary and the Berks & Hants as booked, albeit 32 minutes late! Power cars were (London end) 43004 "First For The Future" and (country end) 43003 "Isambard Kingdom Brunel". Filmed from Coach F (TSMB 40117).
