Mike Lowell is getting a second straight day off Sunday with tightness in his surgically repaired hip.
The Red Sox likely would have preferred that he hold off until they returned to NL parks, giving them a better reason to use David Ortiz at first and Kevin Youkilis at third. As is, Lowell should be ready to play after the odd day Monday. Still, he'll probably get at least a couple of more days off this week. Jun
Mike Lowell's getting old? I don't think so! He just hit a 3 run home run against the Yankees. Lowell is the man. He was the MVP of the 2007 World Series and the Red Sox best hitter during the 2007 season. Unfortunately, he was hampered by injuries during 2008, but I am glad to see him back and hitting well in '09.
We that is to say, Boston, should keep him, he is the best hitter, and third baseman. Well, atleast the good thing he is, he's signed to the Sox for 2008, let's hope he stays for 2009 also. =/
i love lowell, altho im sad to say i dont think Boston will keep him. i dont think they will give him the contract lenth he will ask for.. i dont see us paying 3+ years for him and i have a feeling thats what he will want. but i still love my redsox.
