The end of the penultimate series of NHP. Judging by Noel's comments it seems far from confirmed that the show would be returning at all, but this is pretty much the nadir of the show - Blobby and gunge overload and a bit of an embarrassment. But Noel does get his traditional end-of-series gunging though...

  • More evidence of how the House Party relied on Mr Blobby throughout it's final years.

  • In response to this over-reliance blobby was dropped from the final series. So apart from his inevitable reappearance on the last ever episode, this is his last regular appearance on the show.

  • Noel Edmunds was annoying then

  • Who's the real Mr Blobby? Stupid

  • 1:02 someone's hand pulling the door shut lol

  • @jeffrey44 haha I can't remember

  • this was great for the first few years but then gradually it did get silly and boring and in the end noone really cared anymore.

  • good old mr blobby

  • @tomh9876 Blobby wasn't the sole reason for the downfall of the show. But he became the emblem of the lazy slapstick lack of content which overwhelmed the show in increasing measure as the years went by.

Blobby became a gap-filler for when they needed to string out what little else they had to offer.

*director "Blobby, go beat up Noel for a couple of minutes until the segment with the gunge".

  • I have to disagree about the overuse of Blobby. This was a family show. I was a child when it was on and I thought that Mr Blobby was the funniest thing in the world. I think they got the balance just right between adult and child humour.

  • mr blobby is frigging scary! cast him as a child-eating monster in a ball pool/funhouse thing and you have yourself a terrifiying horror movie!

  • @kanenkitten the bbc can advertise in shows I think and get paid for it...but ITV can't as they have adverts
