Excuse me. This lady is only the major icon of the sixties. Such a individual we will never see again. She is only to be adored. Love this chick.

The tune was composed by Burt Bacharach, lyrics by Hal David, originally performed by Dionne Warwick in 1964 or so. Laura had so much to give, and she gave, and God knows we were blessed, and our loss much felt........

Laura was the very best.....

Brilliant interpretation... done by one who knows the truth of a it.

Yes, this is beautifully sung by her; what a soulful intepretation.

This song was written by a white man and popularized by a black pop singer. It was never a blues song to begin with. Laura gave it a more bluesy interpretation because that was simply her style. She was from the Bronx and many of her early influences were black musicians. Her own music was color blind and was often bluesy. If anyone sang from the heart, Laura did. Given all I've said, why is anyone upset at the way she is singing this song?

Love it!

what a stupid argument this is.
-
She didn't write this song. But she did write "Stoned Soul Picnic," which is every bit as good.

@noahstfuboi Hey man, just let people be. Black, white or yellow is the same when we talk about feeling the music.
