i bought that kit on ebay about 2 years ago and just put it together. The 300 advertised feet can only be established if you have it on a leval surface like a long basment the 300 ft work almost fine

i got my kit, (it doesnt work some reason) but says chanels 3-6

Try hooking up an external antenna on the roof and seeing how far it goes. Part of the problem is that it's in the basement.
