Southwest Airlines commercial circa 1972

Ahhhh, nostalgia. They don't make them like this anymore - commercials or "flight attendants". One has to wonder how many takes they had to do until they got the timing right - this was, of course,...

Swaflygirl,

What do you think? Try using your brain. And I know female pilots really get a shitty deal at Southwest.

They are still chauvinistic pigs over there at Southwest.

Do you speak from experience? I think not. Grow up and get a life. I am a female flight attendant for SWA and have been for over ten years. That "stupid" comment has never crossed my mind.

Good for you. Been flying SWA since 73-74. GREAT airline. However, I do have fond recollections of those Hot Pants. But too old now to do anything but "recollect" Sad.

they only had one take to do this becuase they only had enough money for one take. They had only 3 or 4 aircraft at the time. one of the aircraft was in reserve, (the one they were to use in this commercial). However, one of the planes that was in service went down for maintainence and they had to give up the "Standby Aircraft". The one in this commercial is the one that went down for repairs. This explains the massive amounts of smoke coming out of the #2 engine
