My second ever composition made for my second semester music theory class's final project! I'm very pleased with the way it turned out, especially since I toiled on it for months. It got an "A" grade!
Well, it was written as a song for voice and piano, so it actually has lyrics, but this is the MIDI version that I heard when I was composing it, using the "Finale Notepad" software.
I got the lyrics online. Apparently it's an Italian nursery rhyme. The reason you see a picture of a butterfly is because 'farfallina' is the Italian word for 'butterfly'.
Here are the lyrics, if anyone cares:
Farfallina,
bella e bianca,
vola, vola, mai si stanca!
Gira qua e gira la.
Ecco, ecco a trovata,
bianca e rosa colorata.
Gira qua e gira la!
Oh, and sorry if there were some odd harmonies you didn't like. I was required to use an Augmented 6 chord, a secondary leading tone or dominant, and a borrowed chord. So I used a German Augmented 6, several dominant of dominants, leading tone dominant of dominants, and dominant 7 of something else, and a borrowed minor iv.
Bellissima!
