  • Spirit is= ʻUhane . . . and great is = Nui . . . so Great Spirit would be: ʻUhanenui as a name

  • @PeerlessWonder And who are you to say that the Hawaiian language has no utility? Your comment is arrogant, presumptuous and ignorant, all bundled together. Just because it's meaningless to you doesn't mean it's meaningless to all -- Take Latin for example; a dead language, yet wholly ingrained in the US legal system. It transcends tradition, and involves the preservation of an entire culture, not to mention the benefit of eduction. All of which are aspects that you seem to severely lack.

  • @hawaiian96chence I never said I was Hawaiian im black. My 3 friends that are Hawaiians where born there and moved to Texas so they clam Texas as their home state and the dont really speak Hawaiian. My bf speaks more Samoan than Hawaiian. I just think its a unique language and I just want to learn it thats all no disrespect.

  • Thank you so much for making videos on the Hawaiian language! :D I just started it in school and I need a lot of help. Mahalo :3

  • How do you say, You are my best friend?

  • It is key to remember the language of the islands, it was almost forgotten to a point. There's now "pure" Hawaiian and "creole" Hawaiian depending on who you ask....

  • How do you say Spirit or Great Spirit in Hawaiian? Do you know a baby girl name that means Spirit? Thanks. :)

  • Sorry I mean thank u

  • Gracias
