This selection is based on Walter Burkert's "Greek Religion", where he says: "In Asia Minor a group of Twelve Gods had long been known. The Greeks correspondingly came to assemble their most important gods in a society of twelve. The number is fixed; some names vary, especially Hestia / Dionysus."

Hestia was an Olympian, but when Dionysus had arrived at Mount Olympus she gave him her spot in the twelve to tend to the sacred fire

It's good to check in with the Pantheon now and then. But I hope Dionysius is not growing angry at his exclusion.
