I personally enjoy it all, hoe you're doing it now is pretty good. the main stuff is obviously the most interesting but the side quests are very cool and really helps the story so yes i think you should continue with them.

Videos seem very good. Side quests are mildly interesting, core stuff more interesting. Really enjoyable stuff.
