@atterol1031 Trust me, I grew up in the church and must have prayed that prayer hundreds of times, but nothing in my heart changed. It was like this ritual I thought I had to get right. I wasn't following Jesus until about four years ago when Jesus saved me:)

@atterol1031 The sinners prayer isn't Biblical... It's really easy to get false conversions that way. There's gotta be genuine repentance and faith in there, turning toward Jesus as your only hope, throwing yourself completely on Him and trusting Him to save you. Not "pray this prayer after me" and then having no heart change. A prayer of salvation is sometimes appropriate to express faith in Jesus, but it's not what saves.
