Through X-Plane the extreme speed of the Me163B rocket interceptor is seen from the bomber's view. Unusually clear pictures of the fast, graceful little rocket glider at 25,000 feet.

  • Your right cyberarmy007. It sounds so good then the problems appear. There was no time or priority to improve the airplane and it sorely needed a more effective weapon.

  • From take off till out of fuel is between 9 and 11 minutes at full rocket power. He would glide unpowered now and then while fighting. Then as a glider trying to avoid a fight it dives to the airport and lands to be reloaded and sent up again.

  • Thanks. Glad you liked the video. It uses one of my X-Plane models. Overlays were added with a video editor to screen captures of the maneuvering Me163 - done with PC software at home.

  • Germany was the first nation to break the sound barrier-not Chuck Yaeger...America and the world were years behind Germany's jet program...even Russia stole Germanys's secrets and almost beat America in the air over Korea... This video is awesome by the way-incredible graphics...state of the art.

  • Technological spectacular - Military practically ineffective!

  • it had only 7 min. of fuel, and it would take a day or more to refuel it.
