These verses were taken way out of context. Paul says it's okay to get circumcised, just so long as you aren't doing it as a work or to obtain righteousness. He's pretty clear about this.

And Paul's talk about pleasing other people is referring to living by the world's sinful ways. There is nothing wrong with doing something that is accepted within your culture if it isn't sinful.

@ebeatworld You might want to reread what Paul says in Galatians about those who are circumcised in order to please "the Jews."

No matter how you try and explain, justify, twist, or dance around all the wretched stuff in the Bible, it still represents cruel behavior and thoughts. What kind of God destroys humanity, animals and plant life because of what he created. There is no good in that behavior. Christianity is disgusting, filthy and vile. I don't murder, steal, chastise, rape or kill babies and I'm an Atheist. I don't require an ancient text to tell me murder is wrong.

Why does every word of every verse have endless interpretations? Why is everything always taken out of context? When God says stone your disobedient child to death, how else do I take it. When God says he's going to take your wives and let your neighbor rape them while you watch, how am I to take it? Or my favorite psalm 137 take a baby and smash it against a rock. Metaphor or symbolism for what? Thats sick! Christians worship a violent God. They are sick people.

paul was a complete liar and a con artist. take EVERYTHING he says with a pinch of salt and realize he would change what he said in order to gain their approval.

Paul's objection is only to those who say that you must accept Christ AND be circumcised to be saved. Paul is saying that salvation is through Christ, and Christ alone. The issue in the Galatian church was that they were teaching that in order to be a Christian, you have to accept Christ AND follow all of the rules in the law (including circumcision). The issue is salvation and not compromising belief to cater to legalists. The act of circumcision itself is utterly irrelevant.
