Apple IIe switched on after 15 years

My first computer, a 1983 Apple IIe. Bought in Singapore in 1984, we moved to the UK the same year. I used the Apple until the 1st June 1992, when it got packed away and put in the attic after I bought my first PC. Last weekend, on the 24th May 2008, I brought all the boxes out of the attic, set everything up, put the 'Apple presents Apple' 5.25" floppy disk in the drive, and switched it back on...

Welcome back you beautiful noisy bastard. I remember being in computer lab back in the early 90s and you'd hear a chorus of these things turning on. Sounded like a fuckin NASCAR race.

Absolutely loved this computer growing up. My grandparents had one when I was a young child....used to love that noise it made on bootup, as well as playing Frogger. In Kindergarten and 1st grade ('91 and '92), my school's computer lab was packed with these.
