  • Great instructions. Followed them to a tee. But when I pulled the color wheel connector from the circuit board, the socket came with it. Now I am faced with a bigger challenge. How do I source the circuit board? I just turned a $100 replacement into a possible tv replacement. Thanks for your instructions. I really did gain from them.

  • @124hhr Are you talking about the ribbon cable? If so, it doesn't have a socket, it is just the ribbon going straight into the board. When I pulled the cable I thought I pulled off the connector but there actually isn't one there you just shove the ribbon back in.

  • @hexagontaginal

Hope you are still on...I did remove the whole socket from the board where the ribbon goes. Is this a total loss easy fix or what??? Please help Hex...

Tvs cost too much money today. Thats the reason I tried to save this one.

    Thanks.

  • @raw7145 Hi - The ribbon cable doesn't have a connector on the end. So when you say your removed the whole socket from the board to you mean you ripped the connector off the end of the cable or that the thing that the ribbon plugs into came off the board? If the connector came off the board, I am not sure what to do about that and I am hoping that isn't the case!

  • Hey Hex,

2 years ago I had the privilege of replacing the DMD board on my Samsung 61" DLP. It was a crazy learning experience as the message boards were not as complete as now and there was no Youtube help. That made me confident that I could replace the color wheel when it blew up, however, your video was like a best-friend who was there to assist as I did it. Good job and Thanks!!!

  • @djlj0531 Glad to help! If I ever have to replace my board you will be hearing from me for guidance!

  • Okay so I replaced the color wheel, and put everything back together. But when I'm sliding the tray back in, it seems like it isn't sitting correctly like it was when I first slid it out. The screw holes don't seem to align and I can't find what is causing it. Any ideas?

  • Thank you for you time and effort to make this video series. You have saved my hundreds.

  • Excellent series of videos!!!!! I have the exact same TV as in the video so it was a breeze to follow you! One thing though, after I turned the TV back on my colors were off. It had to do with the fact that the replacement color wheel wasn't exactly the same model as the defective one and that a jumper had to be removed. There is only one jumper located right below the yellow and white sticker. Search Jangro.com "reveresed red and blue colors replacement color wheel Samsung dlp tv"

  • @124hhr Hey...I did the very same thing and now I think I am out a tv. I thought the whole socket came out so I forced it out with pliers. Real smart...not!

Did anyone happen to mention how to fix this problem???

Please help tvs cost too much.

  • great video man it saved me 150$

  • No, I am talking about the other cable that has the little white socket. I am familiar with ribbon cables as I have taken apart many laptops. Should have know to hold the socket on the circuit board before trying to pull the connector out. Bummer for me but got a new 60" plasma out of the deal.
