YES, we're back! To kickoff season two of the Oakland Urban Dining Guide we visited Phnom Penh House Cambodian restaurant in the Chinatown district of Oakland. Needless to say this episode is packed with all kinds of season 2 opening day excitement. This was the first time any of us had tried Cambodian food and the result was decidedly...perfect. We tried as many different plates as we could without exploding. We went up and down the stack starting with basic egg rolls, moving into a papaya salad, charbroiled beef skewers, duck curry, green beans with peppers, pan friend noodles, some other amazing stuff and finished it off with a delicious banana and ice cream desert. To complement the food both the tea and the water (yes the water) were very refreshing. We also have to give a huge thanks to our waiter, Ty. Not only was Ty a great waiter he also was very excited to open up and tell us the Phnom Penh House Story and by the end of the night I think it's safe to say that we had made a new friend. Alright folks, that's it! OUDG SEASON 2. Enjoy!

I have to remember not to watch these when I'm hungry and have nothing good in the house to eat. I may have to drive south for a meal!
