  • All American? as opposed to??

  • @MichaelaLeach While that is true, there are always exceptions. Chusobitina and Tweddle are both "past their prime" in the gymnastics community and yes they are still meddling.

  • @superwowie A perfect score in the NCAA is nothing like a perfect score in the elite competitions....

  • Yeah she's good, but she's a bit old to be breaking into elite gymnastics. Assuming she's 21 or so since she's a senior, that's reaching the end of a gymnastic career. Yes some gymnasts are older than that but they were in their prime when then were 15.

  • she seems strong on floor

  • What is that vault called??

  • @elizabethrice3 A lot of gymnasts that are at the top of the collegiate level compete on the elite level as well. Yes, the national and international competitions on the elite level are much more grueling, but there are many instances where a gymnast goes from collegiate competition to elite or the other way around. This is true for mens and womens competition. Just because she nailed a vault that's not up to the standards of elite gymnasts does not mean she doesn't have the potential.

  • That vault she completes, the one she got a perfect 10 on, wouldn't even be worth competing at an Olympic games. Those girls do vaults with a minimum difficulty of 5.5 and go up to 6.5. Kiara's vault would be worth 4.0-4.5 points, at most.

  • Kiara was absolutely incredible--for a college gymnast. I am in no way trying to discredit what those girls do every day. Gymnastics is a very difficult sport at every level and the training is grueling. But the requirements for NCAA routines are not as hard as those needed to be on the US team for any international competition, especially the Olympics. At her age, it would be nearly impossible for her to return to international elite competition for the USA, but is one of the best ever NCAA's.

  • @superwowie that's not a difficult vault at all for an elite level. its a yurchenko half twist. there are gymnasts in the elite level doing 2.5 twists. that's why he said she had potential.
