economy picking is a terrible technique, it may make you faster now, but try getting past 120bpm at 16th notes using economy. in the long run alternate picking pays offs so much more.

@ex3vious Marshall Harrison exploits this technique to it's fullest, and when done right, trumps strict alternate picking both in speed and control since it's basically alternate picking with mini-sweeps in between. This video isn't really the best demonstration of what you can do with this technique. p.s getting past the awkward feeling is the hard part.

@eddyvanbuiten Yep, if you're talking about say 12th fret on both strings back to back then you have to learn to roll your index finger (or whichever finger you're using). Let me know how it goes.
