please help, i have an 6 string banjo, and a guitar tuner, but its not working for me with the tuning! how to tune it? and how to exspand the strings on the fretboard?

I play 6 string guitar, how different is the tuning on the banjo or is is the same (standard) EADGBe?

Yes, it's tuned just exactly like a regular guitar.

This banjo is a Deering B6. It is tuned STANDARD GUITAR TUNING. It is a banjo body with a guitar neck. If you can play a guitar, you can play this banjo.

out of curiosity, i just bought one of these and am a fingerstyle player who rests his pinky on the pickguard (of a regular guitar that is)
i would imagine placing a pinky on the actual banjo head would kill the sound... is it difficulty to find a comfortable hand position with this thing?

You are exactly right. You have to touch the banjo head more lightly to keep from deadening the sound too much. Banjos are loud anyway.
