LNER A1 class, No. 60163 on the outward leg of the "William Shakspeare" railtour on Friday 29th of December 2011. Seen here shortly after Saunderton as the train climbs over the Chilterns. With two scheduled stops (of ten minutes each) at Princes Risborough and Banbury, there was just enough time to get North of Banbury for a nice side on pan as the train passes Cropredy. Another sprint to the final destination of Stratford upon Avon saw me arrive just in time, I like the M40 :).

A couple of shots of the turning manoeuvre at Hatton station was to be followed by some more shots of the return leg. It was at this stage however that the forecast rain set in and so I had to give up with that idea and saunter off home. I had a nice chat with 1z64 guys at Hatton, so remember to check their channel and see how they fared.

  • Excellent filming like the long panning shot at Cropredy,I did get wet filming at Henley and Coventry

  • @sirhcsteam I do like to get a pan shot in :) glad you enjoyed it.

  • Great captures and it looks like your panning shot at Cropredy takes over from mine at Little Bourton. What a great stretch of line this is. Regards, John

  • @molzips Well John it looks as though you were only a field away, perhaps I need to brush up on my map reading LOL. As you say a great stretch of line for video, so rare in the Southern half of England not to be a tree lined avenue.

  • Having been on the train this is a cracking video, the panning shot north of Banbury is particularly good.

  • @MarkHerriott1968 Thank you glad you enjoyed it, I too was impressed with the view of the line from that position.

  • that's a great location for the second clip, excellent, cheers.

  • @HughFromAlice I was just to lazy to walk any further, though I had checked the view from the other side of that hedge but judged this side was the better view

  • nice shots - when you pulled back at around 2:20 it brought it home what a long range shot you had been taking. Hugh TU :-)
