  • Sorry boss, great cooking videos. You need to inform yourself though about vegas and compatibility. First off your AVC-HD codec is supported in Adobe Premiere ELEMENTS as well as Pro. You need to download their codec pack. As well as AVC-HD is a standard codec which is distributed within the vegas studio package as jeffbrent mentioned.

  • Brian,

Great videos, both online videos and cooking. Thank You. One question, I am about to launch into this world. I am planning on a Canon HF21 wireless mike and use Pinnacle software. Question, are you still happy with Pinnacle Software?

  • I have Canon hd cam. Works great with Sony Vegas Pro 7,8, and 9.

  • just a quick note -we've been using Pinnacle Studio since version 8. Studio 11 is now owned by Avid (the leader in pro video production). It is very stable and powerful app. on our old dual core AMD 64 X2 4200 And, you can get it up and running without a manual -it's very intuitive. It supports SD, HDV or AVCHD. We use a Sony vx2100, and the two can quickly produce excellent results without breaking the bank as seen at YouTube's BarbecueWeb! Thanks for posting.

  • Actually, Sony Vegas works great with the Canon HD files (.mts), as well as with most other video formats. I use Canon HD for many of my videos and DVDs I produce, and edit the files in Sony Vegas or Sony Movie Studio.

  • Wow, I would have thought a hard drive HD camera would use more of a standard format like MPEG, MOV, or AVI. Your camera didn't come with some kind of file conversion software? Sure, one more step would kind of suck, but at least then you'd be able to use whatever kind of software you're most comfortable with.
