Midnight Sounds is an original song written by Dennis Palmer and recorded by the group "Spice". Written about the the sounds heard late at night by someone who grew up in the 50's and 60's in a blue collar town, like Danville, Illinois. These are the sounds made by the industries that no longer are around the blue collar town. It could apply to hundreds of towns around the country. enjoy.

  • @WANGOCAR the nuget is still there thought they dont use the tracks anymore and the stripmines have turned into just woods.. i live in hillery on the corner of english and ash

  • The Little Nugget is still here

  • I lived near Lakeview Hospital in the 40s and 50s. The sounds are familiar. I also worked at Western Brick during several summers. Don Weise was my classmate at Schlarman High School (class of 1955).

The Hillery Trains and the huge mining equipment from the stirp mine will always be with me. I hope the Little Nugget is stil there. Remember Goble's Market? The wooden bridge across the railroad tracks?

Ah yes, I remember it well.
