This shows the new 3DConnexion SpaceNavigator being used with Google Earth. This is the new smoothest way to interact with 3D worlds.

  • What version of GE is this? I'm guessing its not the free version.

  • The Space Navigator and the content shown all work as shown with the free version of Google Earth. I used GE Pro to make the video because it has a movie making module.

  • I dont realy see the point of paying 50 - 100 $ or whatever it goes for just to look at GE, does it have any other uses? And if so what?

  • It works in a number of 3D applications like SketchUp, Maya, AutoCAD and dozens of others. There is also a tool for viewing photos with it, and there is a driver for using it with Photoshop. There is an SDK out now for developers to quickly develop interfaces with other visual applications. I'm hoping someone will implement scroll-wheel like scrolling for Firefox.

  • Yes, the video was recorded in real-time with a normal video camera. The device makes flying around in GE feel like you are your own cinematographic cameraman!
