so what shoe would you recomend using if you wanted to make your own ruby slippers? Would character dance shoes work? Alxo, did you sew on the sequins or glue them on or were they painted on? They are just georgous!
-
@stevejarrettnc Cool! :D
-
are they real rubys?
-
There were reportedly about 6 pairs made.. all of them hand made and varied slightly, there are still some around, some in better condition than others. But sadly someone stole a pair at a museum in 2005, those ones were in really good condition.
-
did u know the actual ruby slippers were auctioned off over 3 million dollars,because they're made out of real rubbies!
-
hey are u going to sell thoses shoes
-

Not yet, I will eventually (PROBABLY) put them on eBay or something, haven't made up my mind yet.
I at least want to see them on the silver screen before I part with them.

hey steve! Just one question: what is your heel height on your slippers (measured at the back)? Is it just me or do the Elkouby pair look a bit higher than the smithsonian? :S

The Elkouby pair does appear to be a tad taller than the Smithsonian pair.
Sorry - I can't measure the shoes right now, because they're on a trip at the moment.....
