They seem to be along the same eschatological viewpoint. MacArthur calls himself a "leaky" dispensationalist, as he believes in the pre-trib rapture of the church before the tribulation, but not all of the dispensations you'd normally adhere to.

I have not heard MacArthur's series. You will not regret listening through Jim's eschatology series, I came from listening to Calvary Chapel radio and they don't shy away from eschatology. The in depth approach that Jim goes into blows anything I've heard from Calvary Chapel away by far.
