Cameras in Digital Convert Boxes! BEWARE!!!!

I could not believe my eyes.

I have a friend who is kind of a conspiracy theorist. He was trying to convince me that the many of the digital TV convert boxes that our coming out have microphones and cameras built into them. Knowing a bit about electronics I bought one of these devices opened it up fully intending on proving him wrong. To my surprise was right. This device has both a miniature camera lens and what looks like a microphone. I was so shocked I took pictures and video Please send this out to every one you know who is using one of these devices.

I think it's just a receiver for your remote. If you guys are really worried I'm sure a lot of you have technicians as friends or just hire one tell him to take it apart and see if it really is what you think. I used to be into this stuff but then I saw videos on how Alex jones would go to rally's and mess things up for the people who were trying to actually trying to protest peacefully.you need to not believe everything these guys say because the more you guys fear the more money people like

You a slow poke? Dumb Dumb? Thats a standard infrared reciever. They all look like that. ITS NOT A RF device, not for the 20 bucks at walmart you spent on it. That things barely got enough electronics inside to put the time of day on your screen.

@cyberwaffles i really wish my CID saved all the calls that i have had in the past, but it's over 5 months ago so it's no longer on there. i honestly can't explain this incident, but i don't try to read into it. there has to be a logical explanation.

@fatalexcerpts you know what's weird (and i'm not bullshitting here) a few months ago i noticed that my cable box sometimes records stuff for no reason. i can't control the DVR myself, it's jacked up, but there are times where i can see the little red dot on it. something that was even weirder a while ago was one time i was talking about how much fun the coronado beaches were in san diego (haven't been there in over 13 years) and no more than 10 minutes later i got a call from coronado.

@vardanology this is indeed a hoax, but a camera isn't necessarily blocked through a black screen filtering.
