It's Greek, it's Turkish blah, blah. WHY CAN'T IT BELONG TO BOTH? The Greek population in Anatolia were Orthodox and spoke Greek but were Ottomanized in their way of life which was reflected in their dress, art, language etc. Greek Muslims today are Greek citizens, speak Greek, but go to the mosque, cook differently etc. CULTURES INVARIABLY FUSE INTO COMMON ELEMENTS.

It is unfortunate the Turkish government is doing this...but is this an indictment of all Turks? Should I hate people I can not see because their government is flawed? Again hatred is not the answer to anything.

Too bad they coulndt get Chrianthi Sahar to do the belly dancing! I like Katerina sining too.
As as the greek turk thing, there's greeks in Italia, Macadonia, trapped in turkey, and albania, and me in the USA, it dont make us less greek!
Remember ELEFTHERIA for all our Greek brothers and sisters!
If you dont like how your country behaves change it or shut up, I am doing my part to fix America, so I wont stop fighting for my people, and that includes Greeks!
Stop the black hand George Soros!!

Yes, but the Turks did not stop in 1923-24.
They now want the Agean Sea, took control of part of Cyprus, violate Greek airspace with military aircraft etc.

Funny..in my copy of the bible tells me that we should not carry hate towards anyone. My Greek grandfather once told me "hatred is a heavy burden to carry". His grandparents came from an area which is now part of Turkey. They were Greek speaking Orthodox Christians. Terrible things happened but must we hate each other for what has past? This music is a shared heritage that both Turks and Greeks, Muslims and Christians alike should celebrate and cherish.

Its not same now it is turkish yes, but originally its greek music. Chasapiko politiko was play in Konstantinoupoli a lot of centuryes befour turks
The song is wonderful and very well performed, but the "belly dancing" is very modest and it looks more like Persian dance than like belly dance. This lady has unfortunately no skills in belly dancing and it is a pity.

To really dance some belly, my precious, one must have some belly and you seem have one, according to the videos you posted. I'd like to see you dancing on a less uptempo and more traditional kind of music, though. Regards, Jur

With pleasure:-) I will post as a response my video with the traditional Tsifteteli "tha spaso koupes". In case it doesn't work (sometimes youtube has a problem) just search under "Traditional Greek Tsifteteli by Chryssanthi Sahar". Alitheia, Ellinas eisai? The Tsifteteli Oriental is my own Greek-Arabian mix and I dance it mainly on very modern Tsifteteli music.

Thank you very much chryssanthi, you dance it quite well with a nice movement in the hips. In 20 years of making greek music, I've seen a lot of bellydancers and none of them had a belly like yours. If we ever come to Heidelberg, I give you a call! BTW do you know a girl named Biggy?
