Sheep Piece (The Mahagonny Ensemble, Vassar College)

This is the second take of the Sheep Piece, recorded Spring, 2009.

With the exception of pitch and rhythm, players are free to interpret the music in any way they wish. Tempo, dynamics, articulation, and instrumentation are left completely to the discretion of the individual players. Consequently, each performance of the piece will sound radically different from any other and the ensemble is expected to engage in collective improvisation. (A conductor may be used but is not required)
